This morning I had another one of those wake-up-with-a-jolt-and-an-idea-at-five-AM experiences. This one concerned the conclusion to the De fire store conference paper. I realized that Jon Helt Haarder’s “biografisk irreversibilitet” helps explain the crux of the problem. But I put off getting out of bed, and didn’t really have enough time to work it all out before my son got up and the day started. But the basic idea is there on the page now, ready for refining and expanding once the work week starts. The rest of the day consisted of A) Legos, B) the Norwegian ski championships, C) a quick walk to the store in blowing snow, and D) baking pizzas.
