In what amounts to more or less merely a symbolic gesture, this morning I wrote down a few introductory sentences for what I hope will be an article on literary representations of the historical Henrik Ibsen. I’m thinking the project will include A.S. Byatt’s The Biographer’s Tale, Niels Fredrik Dahl’s Henrik og Emilie, and Atle Næss’ Sensommer. It felt good to be doing some research related writing, no matter how meager.
I also got invited today to a first round interview for an administrative position that I applied for back in the spring. I’m one of eight applicants, and I don’t yet know whether they’ve made any cuts yet, or whether they’re just interviewing all eight of us to start out with. It will be a useful experience, I think.
